The Epson ET-16600 Driver is the top-tier model in Epson’s latest EcoTank Pro line of business-oriented machines. The brand currently includes two wide-format AIOs (this one and the ET-16600), as well as three letter-size machines, all with gradually increasing feature sets and capacities, with pricing from $799 up. We’ll look at them in turn in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the ET-16600 measures 13.8 by 20.3 by 19.7 inches (with its trays closed) and weighs about 46.1 pounds, which, among several of its wide-format competitors, is light and compact, especially considering that most of them don’t support the supertabloid page size.What makes any printer an all-in-one, of course, is its scanner, and, in this case, that is a 50-sheet auto-duplexing (scans both sides of two-sided pages automatically) automatic document feeder (ADF). It’s capable of scanning, copying, and faxing one- and two-sided multipage documents without user intervention. A great addition to any home or small office, the EcoTank Pro system uses large ink reservoirs instead of cartridges, allowing it to hold more ink and make refills more affordable. The mobile-ready printer comes with enough ink for 7500 black prints and 6000 color prints. Printing quality is excellent as well, with a four-color ink set and a print resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi contributing to its ability to create sharp and vivid documents. Users demanding speed will also be pleased with the unit’s print speed of 25 ppm for black documents and 12 ppm for color documents. Two 250-sheet input trays work with documents up to 11 x 17″, and a long-document mode on the rear feed enables the production of media up to 12.95 x 236.2″. For scanning and copying, the unit has a flatbed scanner with an integrated ADF that allows scans up to 11 x 17″, and the optical scan resolution is an impressive 1200 dpi. Settings can be checked and quickly changed via the 4.3″ color touchscreen, and for maximum versatility during setup, the ET-16600 is equipped with USB 2.0, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, mobile printing is made possible via Apple AirPrint, Mopria, Epson Connect Email Print, and the Epson iPrint Mobile App.
