The Epson ET-2803 is an all-in-one supertank inkjet printer that uses Epson’s T522 ink. It has a 1.5-inch display, an 8.5″ x 11″ flatbed scanner with no automatic feeder or fax functionality, and a 100-sheet input tray. It has Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, supports Apple AirPrint and Morpia Print Service, and is compatible with Epson’s Smart Panel mobile app. The Epson EcoTank ET-2803 is the same printer but exclusive to Walmart and Target. It’s a larger printer and will take up a good amount of space on a desk, so if space is a concern, you might want to seek out something like a portable printer (like the HP Office Jet 250, which I reviewed) or a compact option, like the HP DeskJet 3755 which I also got hands-on with. Getting this printer set up was actually pretty easy. I have not reviewed many Epson products at all; perhaps one printer years and years ago, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. After plugging in the printer and following the initiation steps on the screen, I was able to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi network. From there, I was able to, add it to my MacBook Pro’s list of printers and see it using my Apple iPhone. You will also need to fill the ink tanks before your first use. Epson walks you through this clearly, and I’m very happy to say the ink bottles are made in such a way. They seem to be quite leak- and drip-proof, so there was no spillage when I was getting everything filled. It is equipped with Epson’s Precisioncore technology, which means it has precise, multi-size droplet control capabilities and perfectly formed silicon nozzles that allow for higher-quality prints at 1.5~33 picoliters at 50,000 times per second. This means it can produce prints with excellent detail, sharpness, and resolution at an impressive rate—15 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 8 ppm in color, to be exact. It has a maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi, which is more than enough even for the photography enthusiast’s discerning eye.
